Not far, is the east end of the bay where you’ll find the marina; the departure point for whale watching cruises and the ferry to Fraser Island.

Things to do on the Fraser Coast

Hervey Bay's climate and idyllic waterways have led to an abundance of water sports activity in the area and the beaches are ideal for all ages for swimming, fishing, snorkeling, sea kayaking and canoeing.
Beach picnics
Visit the many seaside villages in the area and their beaches, including the peaceful and tranquil Dundowran Beach.
On your bike
Hire a bike and experience the 14 km broad nature strip and bike path that winds among the trees, that trace the entire stretch of Sandy Beach from the Urangan Pier to the picturesque Point Vernon.

Whales start arriving in the waters out from Hervey Bay in July and head back down the coast in November. If you jump onboard one of the many whale watching vessels, you will be able to see whales up close as they frolic in the warm waters. Off season, take advantage of the many tours and cruises operating out of Hervey Bay that boast a range of activities including fishing charters and scuba diving, to peaceful cruises around the bay.
